We Found Our Way to Table Games
(After Four Decades of Gaming)

Table Top Games are as classic as dancing in entertainment. While our focus has been on changing the landscape of DJ-ing for several decades, that goal is complete. We have. We knew that one of two things would happen from our efforts.

One, we would have "first-mover" advantage and secure a niche in the hospitality industry. Or two, the industry would figure it out and invent a solution they control.

Unfortunately, someone who wasn't the most ethical in how they handled knowing our plans, who we trusted, expposed that plan so the industry used the tip to invent an imitation of our plans. That imitation is signing DJs who aren't as good successful DJs, and contracting them to work without pay, as a form of job interview, so that their low pay, first no pay at all, then minimum wage, can be used to depress the pay rates for successful DJs.

Las Vegas casinos attempted to do this and also attempted to breach their contracts with successful DJs using the pandemic as an excuse and the successful DJs banded together and sued and won. So the second of two possibilities happened, instead of the first one, although we did win two awards, and be nominated for six others during the pandemic and, overseas, where the DJ industry is less-exploitive of DJs, we achieved our first goal.

We won't delve into the unethical person who exposed us, because that person is a cliche and gives their job role a bad name. So we'll leave that name out of this page. In response, we decided to move to less-costly, more affordable hospitality, that doesn't require so much equipment and computing power to enjoy, so more people could do it, and those who one had that expensive form of fun, could have a choice less costly to choose.

What We Did for Video Games

No one knows this who wasn't there when we did this, but we also helped lower prices, and prevent a price-wave several decades ago, by inventing the first video game website to offer videos of game play to customers, before they purchased a video game.

We'll link the article that covered our game store, that innovated this, and the patent document that proves we did, so that it's easy to see why we chose to do what we did with DJ-ing, and the hospitality industry.

The fact is, if a person knew who we were, and our family legacy, they would know that our family has been in affordable housing since before the owner was born. It stands to reason that the owner would have decided long ago if he would do something to make something expensive more afforable instead of pursuig some other goal.

That's what happened. The owner helped make video games more afforable, around the world, helped me DJ-ing more affordable, altough an unintended part of that is that the industry is trying to make it more afforable by making less successful, less established DJs compete with more established, and more succefful DJs, which is an unethical way to do that, while the owner created his service to make DJ Mixes more affordable by providing a site that plays them free of charge while following all of the DJ regulations.

The owner simply doesn't believe in the strict exploitation of U. S. business that he read about shortly after graduating high school and felt it would only lower quality and increase hardship in an industry whose customers were already struggling because wages had not, and still mostly do not, keep up with inflation or with living costs. They, wages, have lagged behind for six decades.

So the owner wanted his legacy to be to innovate ways to address that problem, instead of finding to simply exploit a market, meaning people, for profit. That's the back story.

What's Next?

We've transitioned to Table Top Games as an alternative to technology-hungry video games, because Table Top Games are more affordable, and encourage social development, as opposed to the isolation encouraged by consumer video games.

While the owner still plays video games, and has an E-Sports interest, only to stay abreast of video game industry evolution, he only dablles in E-Sports as a curiosity, not as a goal for earning money.

The entertainment industy is a vast landscape of high and low cost activity. Phatom Records hopes to lead its customers to things they'll be able to afford over the long haul, instead of things that require a large initial investment and a substantial onging expense to stay involved.
